My artwork from the book Drawing and Painting by Gabriel Martin
I am still in the learning stage in my painting and artwork. I mostly copy things for technique and to develop my style. I really have to do more original works and turn them into masterpieces so I can sell them and get to be a paid artist.
I enjoy painting stylized works rather than photo realism. I like interpreting photos into paintings and I want to improve my skill at stylized paintings that evoke feeling. I am still learning.
Meanwhile, as I said, I still copy for now to improve my skills.
Here are some artworks I did from the book Drawing and Painting The Complete Artist's Handbook by Gabriel Martin. It is an interesting book and quite complete indeed as it services most mediums in both drawing and painting.
I did paintings from the watercolour section of the book as watercolour is the medium I am focusing on. The works are more stylized than in the book by David Webb I blogged about earlier. It gives a more soft skills side of painting and some of the paintings have kind of their own charm.
This was a duotone study using only 2 colours. When doing this you are aware of the tonal values, as if doing a black and white painting.
This is just a casual, candid and laid back painting of a girl with a book.
A stylized painting, distorting the trees and simplifying details to produce an interesting painting that works for me.
Lastly, adding lines in watercolour with colour pencils, showing a texturized painting. I think it is an interesting composition although I accidentally made the tree too big.
Thanks for reading! I will most likely do more paintings in the coming weeks and post them as I go along. Hope you are there to witness me developing my style!

This is of a scene with buildings. I like the architecture of the buildings in this painting. Interesting. I may do more architectural art works in the future.
